The original has been a must-visit in Madrid since 1894, and the Española Way spot joins the longtime location on Collins.
The signature order is churros con chocolate, crispy churros dipped in a chocolate so thick it’s more sauce than drink. 🤤
I’m gluten-free so I had to skip the churros, but I was able to order the drinking chocolate! It’s rich and thick, a completely different experience from a typical American hot chocolate.
Coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go sandwiches round out the menu, and the Mediterranean-style architecture of Española Way makes it feel like a little slice of Spain. ✨

Hey South Beach! Did you know that one of Madrid's most iconic churro spots just opened right here on Española Way? If you're new here, my name is Amara, and I do video marketing for small businesses, and I keep up with all things South Beach so you don't have to.
We are at Chocolatería San Ginés, and this is kind of a big deal. The original opened in Madrid all the way back in 1894, and this has been a must-visit destination there ever since. Now, they've brought that same exact tradition to South Beach with two locations. The one on Collins has been there forever, but then they literally just opened this one right here on Española Way.
They're most famous for their churro with chocolate, or churro con chocolate, which is literally a churro with a thick dipping sauce. I'm personally gluten-free, so unfortunately I can't have the churros. They look amazing though. But I was able to get their drinking chocolate, and this is going to be a rich, thick Spanish hot chocolate, so it's not like a watery American chocolate that kinda tastes gross. They also have coffee, they have other pastries, they even have sandwiches that you can grab and go.
